Albuquerque and Santa Fe New Mexico
Hi Folks. Well we made it to Albuquerque. We stayed at Enchanted Trails RV park. There was nothing Enchanting about it. It was a dust bowl. But, a place for base camp. We went to Old Town twice. That was very nice - lots of turquoise. Plus good food. We had lunch at the Church St Cafe - very good food. We also had dinner one night with Bob and Mary Borden. Bob and I worked together at Roadway. He is retired also. Then one night we met up with Bill and Jan again. We went to one of the many Indian Casinos. We had a good meal and lost a few $$$. But we had fun. We then headed for Santa Fe - 60 miles north. We have been here since Monday. We are staying at Rancheros Santa Fe RV park. Part of the Clint Eastwood movie Every which way but loose was filmed here. We spent two days in downtown Old Santa Fe. Lots of history, jewelry and good food. The oldest church in the U.S. is here, built 1610. We drove about 50 miles from here - looking for snow capped mountains. We found snow but the road ended before we reached the top. We did see mule deer and a herd of elk. One small bull was in the bunch. We may leave for Colorado tomorrow or we might stay here one more night. Who knows. We'll be flying home May 15th. Hope to see most of you if not all of you then. Love Tom and Karen
